We tend to think of advertising on Google as a fairly new phenomenon (only a few years).

To my surprise, I came across a mention of Google in a book written in 1943.

Enid Blyton, in The Magic Faraway Tree (1943), wrote:
'Well, come back and have tea with us,' said Moon-Face. 'Silky's got some Pop Cakes - and I've made some Google Buns. I don't often make them - and I tell you they're a treat!'

'Google Buns!' said Bessie in astonishment. 'Whatever are they?'

'You come and see,' said Moon-Face, grinning. 'They're better than Pop Cakes - aren't they, Silky?'

'Much,' said Silky.

Makes me think!

Google took over the internet. Google is the great daddy now.

Many people don't like google. But i must say i love it because Google brings out new ways to monetize websites (example: Page Rank) and then people tried to get as many backlinks from websites and Google screwed them up by ruling out irrelevant backlinks.

Every time people try to rip off Google, they come up with something. This goes on. And that is what make me interested in Google.
