The placebo effect seems to turn up all over the place. Homeopathy, for example.

Now the scientists find something that we all (probably) knew all along: That price makes a difference.

"A new study indicates that people get better results from taking expensive pills — even when the "expensive pill" is a placebo with no active medical ingredients."

I think studies like this prove how powerful the human mind really is. There have been other studies as well that show the placebo effect where people find themselves cured because they believed they took medicine, when in fact it was merely water. Maybe in the future, we can learn how to harness the power of our minds to cure ourselves without medicine.
