Hi all,
I wanted to post about a part of the body that I really find fascinating. I aim to add a fact about our brains in a hope that this thread will turn into a wealth of knowledge about this amazing organ.
Please add your facts too!
Here is mine...
Fact: The Corpus Callosum (the link between the right and left hemispheres) in the brain of a woman is larger than that of a mans... This could explain why woman find it easier to multi-task then men... |

I have also read that this explains the (statistically) better intuition in women.

| Your brain generates 25 watts of power while you're awake that is enough to illuminate a light bulb. I found that fascinating. |

Can you show me any proof, that our brain can generate power to illuminate a light bulb?
This seems very over the top!!!
Then again if it is true then at least we have a new solution to save the planet |

You haven't been here for long have you? Well, you certainly have some balls
I think asking for proof is very resonable, but last time I did it here I got shot down by a few members. Having said that those members never hung around so hopefully we can discuss this one nicely and actually get something out of it...
I will join your call too! WHERE IS THE PROOF
I have a desk lamp that needs some power to run... Where can I get the brain to bulb conversion kit? Ebay? |

| Hey, I would discuss this with you more but I am just telling you something that I was told years ago. I have no proof it is true. Would love to hear from someone that knows how the brain works and if this is true? It is interesting though. |

I looked this up on the Internet.
The brain uses (roughly) 25% of your body's power, and 20% of your body's oxygen. Wow! Not bad for an organ that doesn't even move!
Your body uses (on average) about 250 watts. That's enough (again, roughly) to light four 60W bulbs or 2½ 100W bulbs.
That makes your brain able to light (on average) one 60W bulb.
Mind you, some people I speak to seem to be already lighting a bulb; there's no power left to use for thinking!
Calculate your power

Is that the same as the saying -
"The lights are on but nobody's home"
???
Apologies, I couldn't resist injecting that one into the topic. |
