Okay, they've been talking about it for the last 20 yrs or so. However, the reporting seems to be hotting up, with some hypnotherapy organisations taking it on board and looking to change in advance, and others sticking their heads in the sand.
Will there be UK Government imposed restrictions made law for you to adhere to in order to be classed as a Clinical Hypnotherapist able to treat medical conditions?
If so:
what will non-clinical mean for the rest?
when do you think it will become Law?
what will it mean for your training and CPD?
what effect will it have on your practice to spend time ensuring
you're covered?
If not:
what will that mean for us as an industry?
what will it mean for clients? etc.
Are you worried, or concerned, ignoring it, or already implementing something into your practice?
What other questions does it raise for you?
At a time when they've even changed and created new laws regarding mediumship services which was previously considered for entertainment purposes only, can we really expect to remain untouched as therapists?
I'd love to hear what you think about whether it will/will not be enforced and what it may mean for the future. |

A few of the hypnotherapy registrars have come together to create a voluntary code of practice, to which all their registrants must adhere. This is (I believe) the preferred route of the UK government.
You can read the code, which I understand is still subject to change.
