Hi
I wonder if hypnosis can help me.

I have a great fear of driving my car. I feel that life would be so much easier if I could drive rather than rely on public transport.

I have had hynopherapy in the past but although I enjoyed the relaxation at the sessions it did not help with my problem.

Welcome to the forums!

Though I'm not certain whether Hypnotherapy is the answer to your problem, I'm sure you'll be able to find some helpful things here.

I think you should post up your dilemma on one of the question forums, I bet someone will have an answer.

Hi Polls,

If all you did was relax during the session, then perhaps it wasn't hypnosis as such.

Perhaps, in your case, you might want to try NLP. Although it doesn't work for everyone, it does have fantastic results with most people. Make sure you find someone who is experienced in dealing with phobias.

NLP stands for Neuro-Linguistic Programming.

It's a fancy way of saying that you can change the way your brain responds to things in life. The core of NLP is "modelling", where you can copy someone else's success in any specific thing (e.g. baseball), and then improve on it.

Richard Bandler and John Grinder, the founders of NLP, used the core of NLP to model successful therapists throughout the world. The resulting set of skills (which is constantly being improved on) is known as NLP.

Thus, NLP is known as a therapy, even though people also use it successfully in business, sport and personal life.
