I don't think I've ever heard of a Hypnosis major, so my question is- how do hypnotherapists come into being?
Obviously, some 'easy' things are on the internet, but how about more advanced areas? I'm sure there are a lot of books about hypnosis, but is there a 'hypnosis textbook' that most people use? |

I'm sure there are plenty of 'textbooks', or at least books for hypnotists. I've seen "Hypnosis for Dummies" and beginners books, for sure. But is there a special school or something of the sort for hypnotists? Or do they all have to go through a self-education period? |

Although it's possible to get training through a mail course, I personally don't believe in doing it that way.
Generally, you train in hypnosis through a hypnotherapy training school. That way, you get hands-on experience.
It helps to have relevant other training, such as NLP or psychology.

| Does it help if you study psychology in college? Also, what are some of the renowned training schools for hypnosis? |
