Two farmers in the west country on the way to a country fair...
NLP Farmer: "How do you grow your marrows so big? Is it because of all the learnings your father gave you?"
Other Farmer: "What's 'learnings'?"
NLP Farmer: "It's an example of a nominalization."
Other Farmer: "What's a nominalization?"
NLP Farmer: "In NLP, we say any noun that you can't put in a wheel-barrow is a nominalization."
Other Farmer: "No, sorry, being just a farmer, I don't understand."
NLP Farmer: "A 'learning' is like a prize-winning marrow! People can't put it in a wheel-barrow."
Other Farmer: "Oh! I understand about wheel-barrows... but which 'people'? Us farmers don't like unspecified referential indices." |
