Hi
Just wondered if any body could help me with some marketing tips? What has worked for you in the past? Leaflets? If so, what do you find helpful to write on the leaflet?
Is it better to have a brochure? Do you find it useful to include a section about yourself if you write a brochure? If so, do you keep it impersonal or maybe divulge a little bit about yourself?
Any ideas?
Many thanks

Hi Sue! Great question.
I put together a leaflet for one of the moderators here. I will ask him if he can scan one and post the picture here for you to look at as an example. He will probably tell you that leafleting is in effective - but this is not the case. Infact the short leaflet run that he did actually benefited me with clients.
My advice is to make your whole client experience an amazing one. Create an image that they can trust, so that they come to you instead of the competition!
Has any of the other members had either a success or failure with leaflets? |

Do not really understand what you mean by creating an image you can trust. Can you elaborate please?
Many thanks

Sure...
Lets take some examples - I am taking a risk here - not sure if I am allowed to do this. Oh well I am sure someone will tell me if it is wrong
Look at the five sites below. Not taking into account location. Which therapist would you most likely go and see?
Everyone join in this as we might learn something...
1. http://www.susangreen.net
2. http://www.hypnotherapywales.com - speakers on for this one!
3. http://www.richardmackenzie.co.uk
4. http://www.landau.ws
5. http://www.realsmart-hypnosis.com
Ask yourself these questions....
1. What did you like/dislike?
2. Was there anything that made you leave the site or was there anything that sparked interest?
3. How quickly did it take you to find a phone number of email?
4. Which sites felt 'right' and which didn't?
5. If you arrived at this site from a leaflet, would you still be interested?
You have to remember that everyone is different and will expect different things. But to give your site the best chance possible you have to hit as many buttons in your visitors as possible. |

I always tend to go for the more business-like web-sites. And I imagine most people do the same.
Though I can imagine some people might prefer something a bit more personal and less formal.
The problem is that hypnosis / NLP etc. still has a New-Age / Hippy image amongs the general public (Nothing wrong with New-Age Hippies of course).
Whether you like it or not, your page is going to play a big part in creating the first impression.
It depends what your intentions are of course:
Contrast my blog www.meme-weaver.com with the tapping.com site. |

Thought I would expand on my post.
At the momen my blog just uses a basic wordpress theme. I created the blog just to write my thoughts up. Of course I added some contact details if someone wanted to get in touch but that's not the main focus.
If I decide to up my profile in the future I'd probably do a redesign and a different domain name. |
