Hey All,

I wanted to start a thread that all Hypnotherapists could join in.

Please list your favourite marketing techniques and ideas here so that someone else can learn from your experiance and knowleadge. Please keep to one tip per post and lets try to get up to 101.

So to kick us off here is my first tip;

Tip 1: Deliver flyers! With a return of 1-3% dont let this put you off! Delivering 500 flyers will easily take you an afternoon. If you could manage going out for say 4 afternoons a month - thats 2000 flyers distributed! With a 1% return you will be looking at potentially 20 new clients as a minimum.

I am just going to do another round of 5000 flyers in a few weeks time so I will let you know how I get on! - It will be good to get out in the fresh air too and enjoy the walk.

Tip 2: Web-Sites - if you haven't got one then get one!

We are now in the era of the internet, so as business people as well as therapists - we must be flexible and use the internet - just like our competitors are.

Getting a site is easy - all you need to do is:

1. Get the text together for the homepage, contact page and anyother pages that you want.

2. Buy a website template that you like from somewhere like www.templatemonster.com

3. Then you need to outsource to a designer in say india that will put your site together for you.

And thats it!

These days you can get an excellent site for under $100 if you are willing to do the leg work and find the right designers.

Tip 3: If you have got products - why not shift them through your website? You could also use services like Adbrite(aff) to market them. In fact you can also use this service to make a bit of extra cash through your website!

Tip 3: Group coaching ("hypnotherapy" or nonhypnois group coaching) : many people will opt into a group because of the lower fee and a good percentage will ask for individual hypnotherapy after you build a relationship with them and demonstrate your competence.

They will think, "If I have made changes in a group setting, how much more and how quicker can I change with one one one help?"

A nice generous smile Very Happy This is how everything should begin and end.

'The Client' is nervous already - the Internal fight/flight mechanism has 'The Clients' heart rate at round about heart attack rate, when you first meet. Very Happy This is better than this Mad !

Sure, but how would that attract clients? If I stood outside my office and just smiled I think that the guys in white coats would come and take me away.

This happened to me once - I managed to hide it reasonably well.

This means you already have a client?

But yes, 'you' may be taken away for a smile?
Very Happy

If you really have a fear about this, I would suggest you relocate... Very Happy

Sure this thread was about marketing, not how to present yourself to clients once you have already taken them on. Wink

mmm, yes.. very good... However, how do you presume that a 'Marketing Thread' would be one that 'All Hypnotherapists' could join in on?

Cool
