Hi,
I am about to embark on making some recordings and wanted to know people's views on whether to have a backing track or another type of sound effect in the background?
What's worked for the group?
Thanks

Hi Jonathan,
You are embarking on a project in an already saturated market, however with hard work it should pay off.
I have used backing music on my whole range of recordings. Ask the studio where you will be recording them to recommend some music for you or you could try and find some online that you can buy a licence for.
I can't remember of hand where I got my music from, but I will look them up when I get a minute and post their site here.
Hope this helps... |

Thanks Richard, I appreciate your help. I am looking for this as a way for this to supplement my income over and above seeing clients - so with the necessary effort I hope that I can make it a viable proposition.
Any tips that you have would be welcome!
Best

Hi Jonathan,
The site that I got my music from was http://www.musicbakery.com
What ideas have your got for marketing so far? Are you planning on selling these to the mass market or as an 'add-on' sale to your clients? |

That's great, I'll look them up.
I'll be marketing them in a number of ways:
1) as an add on sale to clients in the clinics.
2) To my list of past clients and people who have enquired about our services.
3) Using Google/Yahoo/Adbrite marketing to generate demand outside the UK.
4) I have a unique audio player which I am also selling - these will be sold into retail stores. Essentially, it's about the size and shape of an iPod and is sold complete with the hypnotherapy audio content, player, battery and headphones. Retail cost is about the same as a CD, so I'm hoping these will go well. The objective of this is create brand awareness through having our branding in a mass market - this will hopefully then lead to additional sales on the site.
Obviously I've not been in this market before so I would appreciate your thoughts on whether my outline above would generate the necessary interest.
Regards
Jonathan |

| Why not save your self months of hard work and become an affiliate of someone who already has done the work. here is much more to making self hypnosis recordings that really work . Not just an instant sale that will never be repeated. |

| The most important thing is the voice being recorded. It is up to you to decide whether music will aid your voice and what it is saying. Personally I think it can help if the music is taseful and in the correct mood. However some people think music is distracting. Find your style! |
