I was thinking if by anchoring one can make another person to jump, or to lift their hand, etc. I am asking this because I know that one can get people to do things they are not at all aware of. But some people say it is never possible to make a person do a thing in which he is not interested. So is it possible? If this is not possible with anchoring, is it possible with something else ?

It's possible. Think about how a phobia (which -- simplistically speaking -- is a type of anchor) gets people to take behaviour that they don't want.

Generally, an anchor will result in a specific (and short-term) emotion or behaviour. A person can, however, deliberately cancel or ignore an anchor.

However, research that I've read shows that you won't hypnotise people to do things against their ethics. That's a bit of a different question, though.

Well, can you hypnotize yourself to solve a problem? Say, you want to go on a diet but you can't seem to stay on it. Can you hypnotize yourself to stay on the diet? Since self-hypnosis is possible, right? All I know about self-hypnosis is putting yourself into some kind of trance. Is it possible to make yourself do something as well?

self hypnosis sounds cool. But I dont know how can one hypnotize himself. Is it by standing near mirror? seeing oneself.

And how would a guy who hypnotized himself get out of hypnosis?

post your links as well, if it is necessary

self hypnosis is something to read about.I never experienced any sort of hypnosis, so I can't be very confident in this technique.
