I think that depends on what you want the book for.
There is an excellent "starter" book for people wanting to learn about NLP and to learn a little NLP, just to get a taste of it:
"Introducing NLP" by Joseph O'Connor & John Seymour.

I use the following methodology when wanting a good book on a specific subject:
Google--->best book <subject>
I usually go to about 4-5 sites and copy down their recommended reading list. After getting several sites reading lists, I go through and find books common among them. I figure the same books recommended by several sites have to have some value.
With the above logic( ), I found "Users Manual for the Brain" Vol. I & II by Bob Bodenhamer and L. Michael Hall are highly recommended. |

Instead of trying some old books, why don’t you try a more recent book, "Live Your Dreams Let Reality Catch Up: NLP and Common Sense for Coaches, Managers and You" by Roger Ellerton is a very easy and enjoyable read. It covers all of NLP that a beginner needs to know and then some. I highly recommend it.
