Can you combine NLP and Hypnosis together in session?
And....
What other methods are used in Hypnotherapy? |

Hypnotherapy has been mixed with different methods.
NLP uses hypnosis as standard, and is a wonderful addition to hypnotherapy. In fact, modern hypnotherapy and NLP have borrowed techniques from each other.
I personally have seen hypnotherapy being used in conjunction with Reiki and EFT.

| Does this mean Hypnosis is not that effective on its own? |

Not at all.
Hypnosis is extremely effective. But, like any other tool, it's not a cure-all.
If you were a carpenter, no matter how useful an electric drill was, you'd still want to be able to use a hammer, a screwdriver, and a saw.
Add extra tools to hypnotherapy expands the range of what can be done.

Hi Paddy,
Do you see Hypnotherapy as a 'base' technique? I mean, do you see it as a main therapy that you can apply add-ons too? If not, what is your 'base' technique? |

In my case, my "base" training (initially) was NLP, so that colours my view, so to speak. But in my subsequent training in hypnotherapy, I have come to hold tremendous respect for hypnotherapy as a tool in its own right. I tend to see myself as a hypnotherapist who also uses NLP.
I'd like to see this question posed to the larger community.

Then consider it posed...
I class my base technique as life and see everything else as an add-on... |

Can anyone explain to me what NLP does and are there any other techniques you can use?
I don't want to sound thick but it is easier to hear from experienced people about these topic. |
