I read an article, long ago, stating that many CEOs and political leaders were actually successful sociopaths. Their drives just happened to benefit others enough that their behavior was accepted.
Has anyone here seen this in their daily lives?
Do you think that, as societies evolve, there are fewer places where sociopaths can be successful? |

According to dictionary.com, a sociopath is
| dictionary.com wrote: | | a person, as a psychopathic personality, whose behavior is antisocial and who lacks a sense of moral responsibility or social conscience. |
In my personal experience with such business people, this is far removed from reality.
I shan't comment on politicians.

| I could see where you're coming from, Trudy. At least the stereotype of the ruthless business man definitely fits the description of a sociopath. I'm sure the people behind the Enron scandal lacked a great deal of social conscience. |
