Hi all,
Something that has been on the news a bit recently is whether the CIA or indeed anyone should be allowed to use the technique called 'Waterboarding' to interrogate suspects.
There is also some questions as to whether is actually is a form of torture.
So what is your thoughts on this? |

| I'd love to answer this question but I'm not quite sure what "waterboarding" means? Can you give an explanation? And probably in laymen's terms and not all scientific! LOL |

"Waterboarding is a form of torture that consists of immobilizing a person on their back with the head inclined downward (the Trendelenburg position), and pouring water over the face and into the breathing passages."
See the Article on Wikipedia for more explanation, history and other information. |

| I never heard the phrase waterboarding either and it sounds awful!! BUT if the CIA are sure they have their man/woman and it could lead them to more information then i do not object to torture being used to get if it protects us all! |

But what happens if the person being tortured just passes the information that the CIA wants to hear for the torture to stop? I think that this could lead to more misinformation and confusion... I know that if it was happening to me I would probably say anything for it to stop... But them again I am a wimp |

| This should be a no brainer. I mean really how often have they been given answers that are not even true just to get them to stop. It makes no sense to me. |
