Hi everyone!

I have a question about Nlp hypnosis. I read somewhere that nlp hypnosis could cure shyness really fast like in one session. Does anyone know if thats true?....if so is it permanent? I have a problem with being shy and I'm thinking about going to see a nlp professional to overcome it, just wondering if it is something that I should do. If anyone could give me some insight on this I would gladly appreciate it.

Thanks Smile

Do you feel comfortable enough to fill us in a little more on your shyness? When did it start, or when did you first notice that it was an issue? Does it stop you from doing anything? What areas of life do you find that it impacts? What would life be like if you weren't shy?

I have trouble caring to much about what people think of me, and I have a lack of social confidence, when in social situations I feel uncomfortable and I get nervous, and I don't like to be around a lot of people, and its not because I don't want to, but because I don't feel confident socially. When I was younger I wasn't the shy type. I think it came along when I was in high school. My family kept moving a lot and it really effected me with loosing friends, so I kind of isolated myself for a long time and I think thats what brought it on. I just found it extra hard to get back in the swing of things socially. I feel like if I could just get rid of this I could chase my dreams even harder, have more friends guys and girls. I just want to feel confident in every situation that I'm in socially and be myself no matter who's around. Kinda laying it out there but hey it works!!!! Smile

Hi soundmajorz,

So you have a fantastic goal to be more confident in social situations.

So what have you tried so far?

You may wish to find out more about:

Self-Hypnosis.

Shame-Attacking Exercises.

And some Exposure Exercises.

What have you tried so far?

I'd be curious to hear more about this as well. I would be a bit wary of anything that claims to cure you of shyness problems in one session however as the most effective therapies usually take longer in order to begin working. You should probably notice an improvement rather than a sudden cure.

Just the same I'm not very well educated on NLP so I'd curious to hear if it could be used in this way.

Wow, this sounds really interesting.. Does it really work in most cases? Because if it really does- why don't more people know about it? I really haven't heard much about this sort of stuff, so I'm curious...

Should you care 'Too much' about what people think about you?

I don't feel that getting rid of 'this' is required, I would like you to maybe see the unknown advantage that you have always had in social situations.

Think of the film groundhog day, (A man is stuck in time, he is constantly re-living the same day, day after day, and he goes through quite a time trying to make tommorow be different, its a great film, it has some dark elements but it all has a fantastic ending...) For most of us here this is pretty much the total... Groundhog day!

I think you have had a great opportunity to keep re mastering yourself, it sounds like you are more permenant now, so you can us all of your knowledge and wisdom to know who you really are, and if it means that tommorow your moving on... Then make the most of today! Really go for it and make the most of now, you can have a great time doing this, as nobody really knows you, so therefore they dont, and dont need to know this is how you sometimes feel, you can present to people who you really want to be, AND, if you stay here you will be soon known as that person with an 'real taste for adventure' Wink

Yes NLP and Hypnosis will absolutely maximise your chances of making these ideas permenant! Good luck.. There.. I've laid it on the line too Very Happy
