Individuals are a well of questions, thoughts, ideas, and fears. Since the beginning of man, there has been individuals that have aided those people through their mental and/or emotional anguish. As in any occupation, there are individuals that have broken the mold, changed the landscape of the profession, or innovated a the style in which it is performed. This can be said of the individuals who perform hypnosis. Whether it is was Edagr Cayce who was chronicled as one of the first individuals to aid in the curing of certain diseases, or Irene Hughes, who used incredible hypnosis abilities to help the local athletes with their waning lack of confidence cases. Each hypnotherapist contains their own style of hypnotherapy. Each individual has the essence of originality within their office, but every hypnotherapist has the same goal; to be the best at performing their task. This moniker can only held by a very select few of individuals.

1. Franz Mesner: Mesner, the father of hypnosis, work as a hypnotherapist is well documented. He is the main inspiration for the current hit television program, “Medium”. During Mesner formative years, his parents knew she was special, and by his later teenage years she was performing hypnosis based around connecting the deceased to the living. While he is not touring the country, he is working diligently with the local Texas and Arizona citizens. There, he has aided local law enforcement individuals with honing their skills.

2. James Esdaile: James Esdaile, or better known as, “the sleeping prophet”, was notorious for falling into a trance like state where he would perform his hypnosis. During his hypnosis he would attempt to diagnose diseases and possible cures. For his famous 30 year reign, Esdaile, who had never received a medical degree, successfully saved several individuals.

3. Irene Hughes: While Hughes was in the height of her fame, she was considered to be, “one of the ten greatest hypnotherapist in the world” and “one of the ten most amazing hypnotherapist in the country”. Along with aiding local law enforcement with missing persons cases, she also performed hypnosis for celebrities, royalty, and members of the United States government.

5. Sylvia Browne: Sylvia Browne is the most well know hypnotherapist and the most respected hypnotherapist amongst other individuals who perform hypnosis. Astonishingly, she began performing a slight form of hypnosis when she was three years old. Throughout the rest of her life she has performed hypnosis which accurately predict the future and connect individuals to the “other side”.
